East Providence Townies (East Providence, RI) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Cranston East Thunderbolts (Cranston, RI), 77-62 in a league bout.

With the win, East Providence upgrades its record to 10-7 on the season. The Townies travel to East Greenwich (East Greenwich, RI) to clash with the Avengers in a State Championship bout on Monday, February 14. The Avengers go into the bout with a record of 3-15. East Greenwich lost 58-51 in their recent league bout against La Salle Academy (Providence, RI)

Next up, the Thunderbolts clash with the La Salle Academy Rams (Providence, RI) in a State Championship bout, on Tuesday, February 15. Cranston East will attempt to upgrade on its 5-15 season record.
