East Rutherford Cavaliers (Forest City, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host R-S Central Hilltoppers (Rutherfordton, NC), 65-52 in a league bout.

With the win, East Rutherford upgrades its record to 9-8 on the season. The Cavaliers host Polk County (Columbus, NC) to clash with the Wolverines in a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills bout on Friday, January 19. The Wolverines go into the bout with a record of 3-12. Polk County won 83-67 in their recent league bout against Chase (Forest City, NC)

Next up, the Hilltoppers clash with the Chase Trojans (Forest City, NC) in a 1A/2A Mountain Foothills bout, on Tuesday, January 23. R-S Central will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record.
