In Tuesday's league match, the host West Charlotte Lions basketball team scored a tight 70-69 triumph over the Chambers Cougars.

In their next game, the Lions meet the North Mecklenburg Vikings (Huntersville, NC) in a 3A/4A Queen City match, on Friday, January 19. West Charlotte will attempt to move on its 6-9 season record. The Vikings enter the match with a 13-3 record after their 87-7 league win over Hopewell (Huntersville, NC).
