Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Mallard Creek Mavericks (Charlotte, NC) and the host West Charlotte Lions (Charlotte, NC), saw Mallard Creek's basketball squad wallop West Charlotte by a tally of 79-38.

With the victory, Mallard Creek improves its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Mavericks host Hopewell (Huntersville, NC) to confront the Titans in a 3A/4A Queen City challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Titans come into the challenge with a record of 1-16. Hopewell lost 47-30 in their recent league challenge against Harding University (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Lions confront the West Mecklenburg Hawks (Charlotte, NC) in a 3A/4A Queen City challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. West Charlotte will attempt to improve on its 7-11 season record. The Hawks come into the challenge with a 2-10 record after their 65-45 league loss to Chambers (Charlotte, NC).
