Arizona High School Basketball - Sahuaro fells Walden Grove

January 16, 2026: Tucson, AZ 85710

The Sahuaro Cougars basketball team scored 62 points and limited the visiting Walden Grove Red Wolves to 44 in the Cougars league triumph on Friday.

The Cougars now have a 13-6 record. They play next when they travel to Ironwood Ridge for a 4A Kino game on Tuesday, January 20. Sahuaro will confront a Nighthawks team coming off a 63-34 league loss to Salpointe Catholic (Tucson, AZ). The Nighthawks record now stands at 9-10.

With the loss, Walden Grove falls to 11-7 on the campaign. The Red wolves travel to Mica Mountain (Tucson, AZ) to confront the Thunderbolts in a 4A Kino outing on Tuesday, January 20. The Thunderbolts enter the outing with a record of 12-7. Mica Mountain won 49-41 in their recent non-league outing against Tucson High Magnet School (Tucson, AZ)
