January 17, 2023: Waco, TX 76705 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Connally Cadets (Waco, TX) and the visiting La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX), saw Connally's basketball squad hold off La Vega by a tally of 45-39.
With the victory, Connally improves its record to 19-4 on the campaign. The Cadets travel to Robinson (Robinson, TX) to play the Rockets in a 4A Region III District 23 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Rockets come into the challenge with a record of 6-17. Robinson lost 64-27 in their recent league challenge against China Spring (China Spring, TX)
Next up, the Pirates play the Gatesville Hornets (Gatesville, TX) in a 4A Region III District 23 challenge, on Friday, January 20. La Vega will attempt to improve on its 14-9 season record. The Hornets come into the challenge with a 22-4 record after their 95-84 league win over Salado (Salado, TX).
