The China Spring Cougars basketball team (China Spring, TX), was nudged 48-43 in Thursday's league battle with the visiting La Vega Pirates (Waco, TX)

The Pirates now sport a 17-10 record. They put it on the line next when they host Connally for a 4A Region III District 23 battle on Friday, February 3. La Vega will battle a Cadets team coming off a 68-65 league win over Gatesville (Gatesville, TX). The Cadets record now stands at 23-4.

The Cougars (17-13) will now prepare for their battle against Robinson (Robinson, TX). The Rockets come into the 4A Region III District 23 battle with a 6-21 record. In their last battle, Robinson was nudged by Salado (Salado, TX), 65-55, in a league battle.
