Illinois High School Basketball - Heyworth tipped by Eureka
January 17, 2023: Eureka, IL 61530 The Eureka Hornets basketball team scored 47 points and held the visiting Heyworth Hornets to 44 in the Hornets non-league triumph on Tuesday.
The Hornets now sport a 15-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley for a non-league contest on Friday, January 20. Eureka will meet a Falcons team coming off a 52-34 non-league win over Tremont (Tremont, IL). The Falcons record now stands at 13-6.
The Hornets (13-7) will now prepare for their contest against El Paso-Gridley (El Paso, IL). The Titans enter the Heart of Illinois contest with a 9-10 record. In their last contest, El Paso-Gridley was nudged by Fieldcrest (Minonk, IL), 55-42, in a non-league contest.
