Virginia High School Basketball - Gate City holds off Union
January 17, 2023: Gate City, VA 24251 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Gate City Blue Devils (Gate City, VA) and the visiting Union Bears (Appalachia, VA), saw Gate City's basketball squad hold off Union by a tally of 52-50.
With the victory, Gate City improves its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Abingdon (Abingdon, VA) to encounter the Falcons in a Mountain outing on Friday, January 20. The Falcons go into the outing with a record of 11-5. Abingdon won 72-55 in their recent league outing against Ridgeview (Clintwood, VA)
The Bears now own a 3-7 record. They play next when they host John Battle for a Mountain outing on Tuesday, January 31.
