South Carolina High School Basketball - Laurens Academy tops Newberry Academy
January 17, 2023: Laurens, SC 29360 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Laurens Academy Crusaders (Laurens, SC) and the visiting Newberry Academy (Newberry, SC), saw Laurens Academy's basketball squad knock off Newberry Academy by a tally of 42-24.
With the victory, Laurens Academy improves its record to 10-9 on the campaign. The Crusaders host Oconee Christian Academy (Seneca, SC) to play the Warriors in a SCISA A Region IV challenge on Thursday, January 19. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 2-6. Oconee Christian Academy won 66-36 in their recent non-league challenge against Palmetto Christian Academy (Greenwood, SC)
Next up, the play the Richard Winn Academy Eagles (Winnsboro, SC) in a SCISA A Region IV challenge, on Friday, January 20. Newberry Academy will attempt to improve on its 4-8 season record. The Eagles come into the challenge with a 11-2 record after their 53-27 league loss to King Academy (Batesburg, SC).
