Rio Grande City Rattlers (Rio Grande City, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Palmview Lobos (La Joya, TX), 46-40 in a league bout.

With the victory, Rio Grande City upgrades its record to 20-10 on the campaign. The Rattlers travel to Nixon (Laredo, TX) to play the Mustangs in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout on Friday, January 20. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 23-9. Nixon won 46-42 in their recent league bout against Martin (Laredo, TX)

Next up, the Lobos play the Martin Tigers (Laredo, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 bout, on Friday, January 20. Palmview will attempt to upgrade on its 17-8 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 12-15 record after their 46-42 league loss to Nixon (Laredo, TX).
