Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) and the visiting Palmview Lobos (La Joya, TX), saw Nixon's basketball squad knock off Palmview by a count of 58-41.

With the victory, Nixon upgrades its record to 18-9 on the campaign. The Mustangs travel to Roma (Roma, TX) to play the Gladiators in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Gladiators come into the challenge with a record of 13-8.

Next up, the Lobos play the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots (Mission, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 30 challenge, on Tuesday, January 3. Palmview will attempt to upgrade on its 14-6 season record.
