In Friday's league contest, the host Overton Mustangs basketball team scored a big 71-31 triumph over the Cushing Bearkats.

The Mustangs (15-5) will now prepare for their contest against New Summerfield (New Summerfield, TX). The Hornets go into the 2A Region III District 22 contest with a 6-15 record. In their last contest, New Summerfield was trounced by Carlisle (Price, TX), 51-39, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Bearkats battle the Carlisle Indians (Price, TX) in a 2A Region III District 22 contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Cushing will attempt to better on its 7-14 season record. The Indians go into the contest with a 4-21 record after their 51-39 league win over New Summerfield (New Summerfield, TX).
