North Carolina High School Basketball - McDowell thwarts Erwin

January 17, 2025: Marion, NC 28752

The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the McDowell Titans (Marion, NC) and the visiting Erwin Warriors (Asheville, NC), observed McDowell's basketball team knock off Erwin by a score of 81-65.

The Titans (15-1) will now prepare for their challenge against A.C. Reynolds (Asheville, NC). The Rockets come into the 3A/4A Mountain challenge with a 8-7 record. In their last challenge, A.C. Reynolds prevailed over T.C. Roberson (Asheville, NC), 69-48, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Warriors encounter the North Buncombe Black Hawks (Weaverville, NC) in a 3A/4A Mountain challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Erwin will attempt to improve on its 8-9 season record. The Black Hawks come into the challenge with a 9-7 record after their 71-66 league win over Asheville (Asheville, NC).
