The Bishop Walsh Spartans basketball squad (Cumberland, MD), was crushed 65-25 in Friday's non-league battle with the visiting Mountain Ridge Miners (Frostburg, MD)

With the victory, Mountain Ridge advances its record to 7-3 on the year. The Miners travel to Allegany (Cumberland, MD) to meet the Campers in a Appalachian Mountain battle on Monday, January 20. The Campers enter the battle with a record of 9-1. Allegany won 51-42 in their recent non-league battle against Windber (Windber, PA)

The Spartans now own a 1-8 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Turkeyfoot Valley Area for a non-league battle on Wednesday, January 22. Bishop Walsh will meet a Rams squad coming off a 70-35 league loss to Blacklick Valley (Nanty Glo, PA). The Rams record now stands at 6-3.
