In Friday's league contest, the host Elkins Tigers basketball team scored a close 54-51 triumph over the Preston Knights.

The Tigers (7-2) will now prepare for their contest against Lewis County (Weston, WV). The Minutemen go into the Big Ten contest with a 6-4 record. In their last contest, Lewis County was tipped by Keyser (Keyser, WV), 53-40, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Knights battle the Fairmont Senior Polar Bears (Fairmont, WV) in a Big Ten contest, on Wednesday, January 22. Preston will attempt to better on its 1-7 season record. The Polar Bears go into the contest with a 4-7 record after their 59-53 league loss to Lewis County (Weston, WV).
