Utah High School Basketball - Lehi nudges Timpview
January 18, 2022: Lehi, UT 84043 In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Lehi Pioneers (Lehi, UT) basketball squad nipped the visiting Timpview Thunderbirds (Provo, UT), by a margin of 45-39.
The Pioneers (11-3) will now prepare for their outing against Timpanogos (Orem, UT). The Timberwolves go into the non-league outing with a 0-0 record.
The Thunderbirds now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Jordan for a non-league outing on Thursday, January 20.
First Quarter
Madison Salsibury scored 5 points to lead Lehi to a 10 point quarter. Timpview scored 13 points and the score at the end of the first quarter is Timpview 13 and Lehi 10.
Second Quarter
Mia Richards and Mya Rich each made a three point shot in the second quarter but that was all of Lehi's scoring. Timpview outscore the Pioneers 10 to 6 and take a 7 point lead at the end of the first half.
Third Quarter
Lehi started out slow in the third quarter and got behind by 11 points at one time in the period. Lehi scored 12 points in the third period and Timpview ended up with 8. the score at the end of the third quarter is 31 to 28 in favor of Timpview.
Fourth Quarter
Kinly Faux came hit a three pointer and made two big foul shots and the third quarter ended. The Pioneers scored 9 points and Timpview had 6. That made the game tied at the end of the fourth quarter at 37.
Overtime
Lehi scored 9 points in the overtime period and held Timpview to just 2 points, The final score is Lehi 45 and Timpview 39. Lehi had 8 players score in the game led by Ellie Hill with 11 points.
