The Monroe Redhawks basketball team scored 57 points and restricted the host Union Academy Cardinals to 38 in the Redhawks non-league victory on Wednesday.

The Redhawks now sport a 7-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host West Stanly for a 2A/3A Conference 44 contest on Friday, January 20. Monroe will battle a Colts team coming off a 81-68 league win over Central Academy (Monroe, NC). The Colts record now stands at 8-10.

The Cardinals (2-13) will now prepare for their contest against Robinson (Concord, NC). The Bulldogs come into the 1A/2A Conference 35 contest with a 12-6 record. In their last contest, Robinson prevailed over North Stanly (New London, NC), 90-57, in a league contest.
