North Carolina High School Basketball - Monroe tops Anson

January 10, 2023: Wadesboro, NC 28170

Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Monroe Redhawks (Monroe, NC) and the host Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), saw Monroe's basketball squad knock off Anson by a tally of 64-53.

With the victory, Monroe improves its record to 4-5 on the campaign. The Redhawks travel to Central (Pageland, SC) to play the Eagles in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 11. The Eagles come into the challenge with a record of 9-2. Central won 77-57 in their recent league challenge against Buford (Lancaster, SC)

Next up, the Bearcats play the Parkwood Wolf Pack (Monroe, NC) in a 2A/3A Conference 44 challenge, on Friday, January 13. Anson will attempt to improve on its 7-7 season record. The Wolf Pack come into the challenge with a 12-5 record after their 66-65 league loss to West Stanly (Oakboro, NC).
