North Carolina High School Basketball - Central thwarts Anson

The Central Eagles (Pageland, SC) basketball knocked off the host Anson Bearcats (Wadesboro, NC), 73-63 in Thursday's non-league test.

The Eagles (6-1) will now prepare for their test against Chesterfield (Chesterfield, SC). The Golden Rams go into the AA Region 5 test with a 5-6 record. In their last test, Chesterfield went down by Marlboro County (Bennettsville, SC), 57-39, in a non-league test.

The Bearcats now own a 6-5 record. They play next when they travel to Monroe for a 2A/3A Conference 44 test on Tuesday, January 3. Anson will encounter a Redhawks squad coming off a 75-53 non-league loss to East Mecklenburg (Charlotte, NC). The Redhawks record now stands at 1-3.
