North Carolina High School Basketball - Sugar Creek nips Cabarrus Charter

Sugar Creek Wildcats (Charlotte, NC) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Cabarrus Charter Huskies (Concord, NC), 71-66 in a league bout.

With the win, Sugar Creek upgrades its record to 4-7 on the season. The Wildcats host Apprentice Academy (Monroe, NC) to play the Red Wolves in a 1A Conference 38 bout on Thursday, January 19. The Red Wolves come into the challenge with a record of 0-10. Apprentice Academy lost 75-36 in their recent league challenge against Piedmont Community Charter (Gastonia, NC)

Next up, the Huskies confront the Corvian Community Cardinals (Charlotte, NC) in a 1A Conference 38 challenge, on Friday, January 20. Cabarrus Charter will attempt to improve on its 4-9 season record. The Cardinals come into the challenge with a 7-6 record after their 79-64 league win over Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC).
