Illinois High School Basketball - Cuba/Spoon River Valley holds off Lowpoint-Washburn
January 18, 2024: Cuba, IL 61427 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Cuba/Spoon River Valley Wildcats (Cuba, IL) and the visiting Lowpoint-Washburn Wildcats (Washburn, IL), saw Cuba/Spoon River Valley's basketball squad hold off Lowpoint-Washburn by a tally of 58-53.
With the victory, Cuba/Spoon River Valley improves its record to 8-13 on the campaign. The Wildcats travel to Peoria Heights (Peoria Heights, IL) to confront the Patriots in a Prairieland challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 9-10.
Next up, the Wildcats confront the Dwight Trojans (Dwight, IL) in a Tri-County challenge, on Friday, January 19. Lowpoint-Washburn will attempt to improve on its 13-7 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 6-14 record after their 61-43 non-league loss to Manteno (Manteno, IL).
