The Smith Mountain Lake Christian Academy Ospreys basketball team (Moneta, VA), was overwhelmed 69-42 in Thursday's non-league battle with the host New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA)

The Gryphons now possess a 12-4 record. They put it on the line next when they host Veritas School for a non-league battle on Friday, January 20. New Covenant will confront a Lions team coming off a 69-48 non-league loss to Walsingham Academy (Williamsburg, VA). The Lions record now stands at 5-6.

The Ospreys (7-6) will now prepare for their battle against Appalachian Christian (Duffield, VA). The come into the Freelance battle with a 0-0 record.
