Pennsylvania High School Basketball - River Valley nips Marion Center

January 19, 2023: Blairsville, PA 15717

River Valley Panthers (Blairsville, PA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Marion Center Stingers (Marion Center, PA), 51-45 in a league bout.

With the victory, River Valley upgrades its record to 14-2 on the campaign. The Panthers host Portage (Portage, PA) to play the Mustangs in a Heritage bout on Monday, January 23. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 14-3. Portage won 58-15 in their recent league bout against Cambria Heights (Patton, PA)

Next up, the Stingers play the West Shamokin Wolves (Rural Valley, PA) in a Heritage bout, on Wednesday, January 25. Marion Center will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Wolves come into the bout with a 2-6 record after their 55-27 non-league loss to Punxsutawney (Punxsutawney, PA).
