Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Sauk Rapids-Rice Storm (Sauk Rapids, MN) and the visiting Willmar Cardinals (Willmar, MN), saw Sauk Rapids-Rice's basketball squad wallop Willmar by a tally of 71-49.

With the victory, Sauk Rapids-Rice improves its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Storm host Big Lake (Big Lake, MN) to confront the Hornets in a AAA Section 5 challenge on Friday, January 20. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 1-11. Big Lake won 76-60 in their recent league challenge against Chisago Lakes Area (Lindstrom, MN)

Next up, the Cardinals confront the Becker Bulldogs (Becker, MN) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 21. Willmar will attempt to improve on its 3-10 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 10-2 record after their 72-44 non-league win over Cambridge-Isanti (Cambridge, MN).
