Loyd Star Hornets (Brookhaven, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host West Lincoln Bears (Brookhaven, MS), 68-41 in a league bout.

With the win, Loyd Star upgrades its record to 14-4 on the season. The Hornets travel to Amite County (Liberty, MS) to clash with the Trojans in a 2A Region 7 bout on Friday, January 26. The Trojans go into the bout with a record of 3-13.

Next up, the Bears clash with the Bogue Chitto Bobcats (Bogue Chitto, MS) in a 2A Region 7 bout, on Tuesday, January 23. West Lincoln will attempt to upgrade on its 7-10 season record. The Bobcats go into the bout with a 20-1 record after their 71-24 league win over Wilkinson County (Woodville, MS).
