Mississippi High School Basketball - Wayne County overwhelms Vancleave
January 19, 2024: Vancleave, MS 39565 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS) and the host Vancleave Bulldogs (Vancleave, MS), saw Wayne County's basketball squad wallop Vancleave by a count of 60-28.
With the victory, Wayne County upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The War Eagles host Laurel (Laurel, MS) to play the Golden Tornadoes in a 5A Region 4 challenge on Tuesday, January 23. The Golden Tornadoes come into the challenge with a record of 11-10. Laurel won 47-37 in their recent league challenge against Gautier (Gautier, MS)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Gautier Gators (Gautier, MS) in a 5A Region 4 challenge, on Tuesday, January 23. Vancleave will attempt to upgrade on its 1-16 season record. The Gators come into the challenge with a 8-13 record after their 47-37 league loss to Laurel (Laurel, MS).
