January 2, 2024: Moss Point, MS 39562 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Wayne County War Eagles (Waynesboro, MS) and the host East Central Hornets (Moss Point, MS), saw Wayne County's basketball squad overcome East Central by a tally of 67-51.
With the victory, Wayne County improves its record to 10-4 on the campaign. The War Eagles host Stone (Wiggins, MS) to confront the Tomcats in a 5A Region 4 challenge on Friday, January 5. The Tomcats come into the challenge with a record of 11-3. Stone won 63-26 in their recent non-league challenge against Resurrection Catholic (Pascagoula, MS)
Next up, the Hornets confront the Laurel Golden Tornadoes (Laurel, MS) in a 5A Region 4 challenge, on Friday, January 5. East Central will attempt to improve on its 2-11 season record. The Golden Tornadoes come into the challenge with a 6-9 record after their 56-54 non-league loss to South Jones (Ellisville, MS).
