The North Stanly Comets basketball team scored 45 points and held the visiting Mount Pleasant Tigers to 23 in the Comets league triumph on Friday.

The Comets now sport a 13-1 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Albemarle for a 1A/2A Yadkin Valley contest on Tuesday, January 23. North Stanly will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 72-24 league win over Gray Stone Day (Misenheimer, NC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 13-1.

The Tigers (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Union Academy (Monroe, NC). The Cardinals enter the 1A/2A Yadkin Valley contest with a 11-2 record. In their last contest, Union Academy triumphed over South Stanly (Norwood, NC), 81-11, in a league contest.
