Girard Yellowjackets (Girard, PA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Seneca Bobcats (Erie, PA), 62-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Girard upgrades its record to 12-2 on the season. The Yellowjackets host Iroquois (Erie, PA) to clash with the Braves in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Braves go into the bout with a record of 2-11. Iroquois lost 68-62 in their recent non-league bout against Northwestern (Albion, PA)

Next up, the Bobcats clash with the North East Grape Pickers (North East, PA) in a District 10 Region 3 bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Seneca will attempt to upgrade on its 7-5 season record. The Grape Pickers go into the bout with a 7-6 record after their 44-19 league loss to Mercyhurst Prep (Erie, PA).
