Georgia High School Basketball - Robert Toombs Christian Academy knocked off by Memorial Day
January 20, 2023: Savannah, GA 31405 The Memorial Day Matadors basketball team scored 53 points and held the visiting Robert Toombs Christian Academy Crusaders to 45 in the Matadors league triumph on Friday.
The Matadors now sport a 12-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Twiggs Academy for a GIAA A Region 6 contest on Tuesday, January 24. Memorial Day will battle a Trojans team coming off a 66-32 league loss to First Preparatory Christian Academy (Hinesville, GA). The Trojans record now stands at 2-11.
The Crusaders (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against Piedmont Academy (Monticello, GA). The Cougars enter the non-league contest with a 3-11 record. In their last contest, Piedmont Academy ran past Briarwood Academy (Warrenton, GA), 53-41, in a non-league contest.
