North Carolina High School Basketball - Cherokee overwhelms Murphy
January 20, 2023: Cherokee, NC 28719 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Cherokee Braves (Cherokee, NC) and the visiting Murphy Bulldogs (Murphy, NC), saw Cherokee's basketball squad wallop Murphy by a tally of 77-41.
With the victory, Cherokee improves its record to 15-3 on the campaign. The Braves host Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC) to confront the Black Knights in a 1A Conference 43 - Big challenge on Tuesday, January 24. The Black Knights come into the challenge with a record of 10-6. Robbinsville won 78-65 in their recent league challenge against Swain County (Bryson City, NC)
Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Hayesville Yellowjackets (Hayesville, NC) in a 1A Conference 43 - Big challenge, on Tuesday, January 24. Murphy will attempt to improve on its 6-11 season record. The Yellowjackets come into the challenge with a 6-10 record after their 47-28 league win over Andrews (Andrews, NC).
