Great Mills Hornets (Great Mills, MD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting St. Charles (Waldorf, MD), 38-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Great Mills upgrades its record to 4-9 on the campaign. The Hornets travel to McDonough (Pomfret, MD) to play the Rams in a Southern Maryland bout on Wednesday, January 25. The Rams come into the bout with a record of 9-1. McDonough won 37-17 in their recent league bout against Calvert (Prince Frederick, MD)

Next up, the play the Leonardtown Raiders (Leonardtown, MD) in a Southern Maryland bout, on Wednesday, January 25. St. Charles will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record.
