Westminster Owls (Westminster, MD) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting South Carroll Cavaliers (Sykesville, MD), 42-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Westminster upgrades its record to 11-4 on the campaign. The Owls travel to Winters Mill (Westminster, MD) to play the Falcons in a Carroll County bout on Friday, February 10. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 2-11.

Next up, the Cavaliers play the Manchester Valley Mavericks (Manchester, MD) in a Carroll County bout, on Monday, January 23. South Carroll will attempt to upgrade on its 4-7 season record. The Mavericks come into the bout with a 8-2 record after their 50-31 league win over Liberty (Sykesville, MD).
