Virginia High School Basketball - Bishop O'Connell nips Archbishop Carroll
January 22, 2023: Arlington, VA 22213 Bishop O'Connell Knights (Arlington, VA) backers were pleased Sunday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Archbishop Carroll Lions (Washington, DC), 59-55 in a league bout.
With the victory, Bishop O'Connell upgrades its record to 9-7 on the campaign. The Knights travel to Bishop McNamara (Forestville, MD) to play the Mustangs in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Mustangs come into the bout with a record of 17-4. Bishop McNamara won 72-61 in their recent non-league bout against George School (Newtown, PA)
Next up, the Lions play the DeMatha Stags (Hyattsville, MD) in a Washington Catholic bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Archbishop Carroll will attempt to upgrade on its 6-12 season record. The Stags come into the bout with a 12-8 record after their 89-72 non-league loss to Georgetown Prep (North Bethesda, MD).
