California High School Basketball - El Capitan winner over Merced
January 23, 2023: Merced, CA 95344 The El Capitan Gauchos (Merced, CA) basketball felled the host Merced Bears (Merced, CA), 42-28 in Monday's league test.
The Gauchos (12-10) will now prepare for their test against Buhach Colony (Atwater, CA). The Thunder go into the Central California Conference test with a 7-16 record. In their last test, Buhach Colony was beaten by Golden Valley (Merced, CA), 65-35, in a league test.
The Bears now own a 9-14 record. They play next when they travel to Central Valley for a Central California Conference test on Wednesday, January 25. Merced will encounter a Hawks squad coming off a 81-49 non-league loss to Central Catholic (Modesto, CA). The Hawks record now stands at 6-16.
