Winthrop College Prep Academy Spartans (Riverview, FL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Universal Academy Falcons (Tampa, FL), 23-19 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Winthrop College Prep Academy upgrades its record to 7-14 on the season. The Spartans travel to Bayshore (Bradenton, FL) to play the Bruins in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 24. The Bruins go into the bout with a record of 16-6. Bayshore won 30-23 in their recent non-league bout against Southeast (Bradenton, FL)

Next up, the Falcons play the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors (Zephyrhills, FL) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 24. Universal Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 5-12 season record. The Warriors go into the bout with a 2-9 record after their 30-22 non-league loss to First Academy (Leesburg, FL).
