Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Ellwood City Wolverine (Ellwood City, PA) and the visiting Neshannock Lancers (New Castle, PA), saw Ellwood City's basketball squad hold off Neshannock by a tally of 54-47.

With the victory, Ellwood City improves its record to 10-6 on the campaign. The Wolverine travel to Mohawk Area (Bessemer, PA) to confront the Warriors in a WPIAL 3A 1 challenge on Friday, January 26. The Warriors come into the challenge with a record of 11-6. Mohawk Area won 63-21 in their recent league challenge against Freedom Area (Freedom, PA)

Coming up next, the Lancers battle the Beaver Falls Tigers (Beaver Falls, PA) in a WPIAL 3A 1 contest, on Friday, January 26. Neshannock will attempt to better on its 13-3 season record. The Tigers come into the contest with a 5-8 record after their 59-51 non-league loss to Rochester (Rochester, PA).
