Avalon Eagles (Avalon, TX) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the host Milford Bulldogs (Milford, TX), 51-49 in a league challenge.

With the victory, Avalon improves its record to 13-9 on the campaign. The Eagles host Oakwood (Oakwood, TX) to confront the Panthers in a 1A Region IV District 26 challenge on Friday, January 27. The Panthers come into the challenge with a record of 2-10. Oakwood lost 57-37 in their recent league challenge against Penelope (Penelope, TX)

Next up, the Bulldogs confront the Coolidge Yellowjackets (Coolidge, TX) in a 1A Region IV District 26 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Milford will attempt to improve on its 15-5 season record.
