Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Mercedes Tigers (Mercedes, TX) and the visiting Donna Redskins (Donna, TX), saw Mercedes's basketball squad hold off Donna by a tally of 65-59.

With the victory, Mercedes improves its record to 14-14 on the campaign. The Tigers travel to Weslaco East (Weslaco, TX) to confront the Wildcats in a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge on Friday, January 27. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a record of 18-11. Weslaco East lost 60-47 in their recent league challenge against Veterans Memorial (Brownsville, TX)

Next up, the Redskins confront the Pace Vikings (Brownsville, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Donna will attempt to improve on its 6-18 season record. The Vikings come into the challenge with a 20-9 record after their 58-42 league loss to Lopez (Brownsville, TX).
