Maumee Valley Country Day Hawks (Toledo, OH) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the host Hilltop Cadets (West Unity, OH), 71-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Maumee Valley Country Day upgrades its record to 7-8 on the season. The Hawks host Cardinal Stritch (Oregon, OH) to play the Cardinals in a Toledo Area bout on Friday, January 27. The Cardinals go into the bout with a record of 13-2. Cardinal Stritch won 59-42 in their recent non-league bout against Carey (Carey, OH)

Next up, the Cadets play the Montpelier Locomotives (Montpelier, OH) in a Buckeye Border bout, on Friday, January 27. Hilltop will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Locomotives go into the bout with a 5-7 record after their 66-56 non-league loss to Paulding (Paulding, OH).
