The Newman Smith Trojans (Carrollton, TX) basketball nipped the visiting Reedy Lions (Frisco, TX), 30-27 in Tuesday's league test.

The Trojans (10-16) will now prepare for their test against The Colony (The Colony, TX). The Cougars go into the 5A Region II District 9 test with a 21-9 record. In their last test, The Colony got by Creekview (Carrollton, TX), 53-27, in a league test.

The Lions now own a 14-15 record. They play next when they host Lone Star for a 5A Region II District 9 test on Friday, January 27. Reedy will encounter a Rangers squad coming off a 55-33 league win over Wakeland (Frisco, TX). The Rangers record now stands at 13-11.
