January 24, 2023: Albuquerque, NM 87122 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the La Cueva Bears (Albuquerque, NM) and the visiting Sandia Matadors (Albuquerque, NM), saw La Cueva's basketball squad hold off Sandia by a tally of 50-49.
With the victory, La Cueva improves its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Farmington (Farmington, NM) to play the Scorpions in a non-league challenge on Saturday, January 28. The Scorpions come into the challenge with a record of 7-3. Farmington lost 76-51 in their recent non-league challenge against Eldorado (Albuquerque, NM)
Next up, the Matadors play the Piedra Vista Panthers (Farmington, NM) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 28. Sandia will attempt to improve on its 9-4 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 2-6 record after their 74-39 non-league loss to West Mesa (Albuquerque, NM).
