In Friday's league contest, the host Andrean Fighting 59ers basketball team scored a close 45-38 triumph over the Kankakee Valley Kougars.

The Fighting 59ers (12-10) will now prepare for their contest against South Bend St. Joseph (South Bend, IN). The Huskies go into the non-league contest with a 12-6 record. In their last contest, South Bend St. Joseph was tipped by Penn (Mishawaka, IN), 66-35, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Kougars battle the Rensselaer Central Bombers (Rensselaer, IN) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Kankakee Valley will attempt to better on its 7-13 season record. The Bombers go into the contest with a 18-2 record after their 76-18 non-league win over Western (Russiaville, IN).
