The Swain County Maroon Devils basketball squad (Bryson City, NC), was crushed 69-37 in Friday's league battle with the visiting Andrews Wildcats (Andrews, NC)

With the victory, Andrews advances its record to 8-8 on the year. The Wildcats host Cherokee (Cherokee, NC) to meet the Braves in a 1A Smoky Mountain battle on Tuesday, January 28. The Braves enter the battle with a record of 13-2. Cherokee won 96-30 in their recent league battle against Robbinsville (Robbinsville, NC)

The Maroon Devils now own a 3-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Highlands for a 1A Smoky Mountain battle on Monday, January 27. Swain County will meet a Highlanders squad coming off a 48-36 non-league win over Summit Charter (Cashiers, NC). The Highlanders record now stands at 9-8.
