In Thursday's league outing, the Lamar Thunder (Lamar, CO) basketball squad edged the visiting St. Mary's Pirates (Colorado Springs, CO), by a margin of 50-45.

The Thunder (7-8) will now prepare for their outing against Buena Vista (Buena Vista, CO). The Demons go into the 4A/3A Tri-Peaks outing with a 8-4 record. In their last outing, Buena Vista held off Rye (Rye, CO), 48-16, in a league outing.

The Pirates now own a 9-2 record. They play next when they host St. Mary's Academy for a non-league outing on Tuesday, January 30. St. Mary's will clash with a Wildcats squad coming off a 50-12 non-league win over SkyView Academy (Highlands Ranch, CO). The Wildcats record now stands at 8-5.
