Game Summary
Aaliyah's monster free kick from 45 yds. out was the game-winner as it inched in just under the crossbar with 19 min. left in the first half. Then, 11 min. later, Rhea's free kick was bounced around a bit by Columbia before Claire gathered it in and netted it on a 25-yd. burner from the middle. Our productive first half—5 shots on goal in 11 attempts, Emma's 5 efficient saves of their shots—gave us a comfortable 2-nil lead at the break. ArianaB had a promising chance in the 46th min. as she dribbled in close on a 1v1 that was negated on a good save, and Emma kept them scoreless on a great save on her own 1v1 in tight just 2 min.later. We closed out the scoring just before the water break when AriB's flick went to Selena, who then laced a perfect flick at the feet of Mango, who bopped it in from about the 15-yard stripe. With Coach Nick at home in recovery from recent eye surgery, this was Coach Lance's first win as a kinda head coach.
