Game Summary
Both sides were equal in the first half; we had 8 shots/4 on goal to their 9 shots/3 on goal. Our best looks in the half came from Aaliyah: her rocket shot with 9 m. left glanced down off the crossbar and past the goalline, but the refs agreed not. She came close 2 m. later but her shot sailed high, and the final came when Mango sent Aaliyah a great cross just inches in front of the goal line that their keeper stole from Aailyah's foot. So nil-nil at the half. Neither team mounted much until after the last water break. Lidia nabbed a terrific save of a ball sent in from the right to the near post in the 64th m; 7 m. later Ari B. was just Wide on a breakaway; she had another great look with less than 2 left on a shot that was just off; and Aaliyah then sent one in that was stopped by great save. We were almost outta time when Mango took Emerson's feed, popped it past a defender, then dribbled in close to slam the ball to the far post and into the side of the net with 10 seconds left.
