Texas High School Basketball - Anderson-Shiro can't hold off New Waverly
January 26, 2024: Anderson, TX 77830 The New Waverly Bulldogs basketball squad scored 42 points and restricted the host Anderson-Shiro Fighting Owls to 39 in the Bulldogs league victory on Friday.
With the victory, New Waverly upgrades its record to 11-17 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host Coldspring-Oakhurst (Coldspring, TX) to play the Trojans in a 3A Region III District 23 bout on Tuesday, January 30. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 22-7. Coldspring-Oakhurst lost 59-56 in their recent league bout against Tarkington (Cleveland, TX)
Next up, the Fighting Owls play the Trinity Tigers (Trinity, TX) in a 3A Region III District 23 bout, on Tuesday, January 30. Anderson-Shiro will attempt to upgrade on its 8-16 season record. The Tigers come into the bout with a 14-12 record after their 55-49 league loss to Onalaska (Onalaska, TX).
