January 27, 2023: Walnut Ridge, AR 72476 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Melbourne Bearkatz (Melbourne, AR) and the host Walnut Ridge Bobcats (Walnut Ridge, AR), saw Melbourne's basketball squad overcome Walnut Ridge by a tally of 54-42.
With the victory, Melbourne improves its record to 11-12 on the campaign. The Bearkatz travel to Tuckerman (Tuckerman, AR) to play the Bulldogs in a 3A Region 2 challenge on Monday, January 30. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 15-13. Tuckerman won 48-38 in their recent league challenge against Salem (Salem, AR)
Next up, the Bobcats play the Cave City Cavemen (Cave City, AR) in a 3A Region 2 challenge, on Wednesday, February 1. Walnut Ridge will attempt to improve on its 9-14 season record. The Cavemen come into the challenge with a 3-18 record after their 57-50 league loss to Hoxie (Hoxie, AR).
